A mix-up, coupled with a theft, has caused some problems for two local companies and has led to an investigation by Selma Police.

According to Selma Police spokesperson Warren Hinson, some guns, which were placed in a box, were supposed to be delivered to Walter Craig Incorporated, a gun dealer located on New Orville Road in Selma. The guns were delivered from Glock Industries, a company located in Smyrna, Ga.

The box, however, accidentally went to another local business, a business whose name Hinson said she could not disclose.

Hinson said employees at the undisclosed business told police that

after discovering the mix-up, they then immediately secured the box, moving it to another office.

A short period of time later, Hinson said employees at the business said they were surprised to learn that someone had pilfered the box and had stolen several guns.

Hinson, who reported that less than 10 guns had been stolen, said police have recovered several of the guns and that they, along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, are still investigating the incident.

None of the companies involved in the incident could be reached for comment Monday.
