Robert Allen
Robert Allen, 86, of Orrville, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2003, at a local hospital.
Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 16, at Cheerful Baptist Church in Molette Bend with the Rev. John Lumpkin officiating. Burial will follow in Molette Bend Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include two daughters, Fannie L. Thomas and Edeen Snow; a sister, Artelia Jones; one stepson, George Molette; one daughter-in-law, Shirley Molette; and one son-in-law, Willie Charles Thomas.
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Cheerful Baptist Church of Orrville/ Molette Bend.
Issac Dixon
Issac Dixon, 51, of Selma, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, at a local hospital.
Services are at 12 noon Saturday, Aug. 16, at Ebenezer Baptist Church wit the Rev. F.D. Reese officiating.
Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include two daughters, Twanya Dixon and Helene Dixon; brothers, William (Lucy) Dixon and James (Mary) Dixon; sisters, Johnnie Mae (Bennie) Tucker, Valerie (Perry) Frison, Angela Smith and Margaret Swift; one grandchild, Kourtney Dixon; six brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hollis Dixon; parents, Johnny and Gennie Dixon, a brother, Charlie Dixon and a sister, Shirley Sallie.
Active pallbearers are Deacons of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Bruno Selmi
Bill &uot;Bruno&uot; Selmi of Selma, died Wednesday, August 13, 2003, at a local nursing home.
Graveside services are at 11 a.m., Friday, August 15, at New Live Oak Cemetery with Father Carroll Plourde and the Rev. Gene Woodruff officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Irma Krebs Selmi; and brothers Arthur Selmi and Paul Selmi of Rockfalls, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Walker of Rockfalls, Ill.
Mr. Selmi joined the U.S. Army in 1938 serving four years before joining the Army Air Corps in 1942. While in the Army, he was a member of the 517th Parachute Combat Team, serving in World War II fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Selmi retired in 1964 as a Senior Master Sergeant. After retirement he worked as a civilian at Craig Air Force Base until it closed in 1978.
Willie James Furlow
Willie James Furlow, 57, of Selma, died Thursday August 7, 2003, at a local hospital.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 16, at Lilly Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Leo King officiating. Burial will in the churchyard cemetery with J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include a loving daughter, Charlene Roberts of Florida; one brother, Tommy (Lois) Furlow of Chicago Ill.; six sisters, Helen Furlow, Delkine Furlow, Rosie (Joseph) Goodwin, Leola (Lester) Jones all of Selma, Eleanor Watters (Steven Baumgardner) of Bloomfield N.J., and Louella (Donald) Slater of Paterson N.J. Also surviving are eight aunts and four uncles, Earnestine (Willie) Graham, Rosa Myers, John (Lucille) Smith and Roy (Lorraine) Smith all of Michigan, Sarah Rush of Selma, Robert (Daisy) Smith of Chicago Ill., Bessie Rush of Pensacola Fla., and Lois Moore of Selma; and one special cousin Inez Sworn of Buffalo N.Y.; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, at J. H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home.
Mr. Furlow was the son of the late Freeman and Edna M. Rush Furlow, He was born on January 15, 1946 in Tyler. He was raised and attended school in this town and at an early age joined Lilly Grove Baptist Church in Perry County. In 1964, he moved to Buffalo New York and later moved to Palmetto Fla. After becoming ill, he returned to Selma in 2000 to be with his family.
Carmen L. Reshard
Carmen L. Reshard, 31, of New York, formerly of Dallas County, died Friday, August 8, 2003.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 16, at Mt. Olive P.B. Church in Marion Jct. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
