Area schools begin dreaded two-a-days

You can almost taste it, you can certainly feel it, and it ‘s almost time to go out and enjoy it. Football season is just weeks away, and most of the local high school programs start their fall practices today.

With everyone wanting to improve on their performances from last season, and hopefully make the playoffs, or maybe even win a state championship this year, today is the first official day than can go to work on achieving that.

The private school system could officially start its fall two-a-day practices on Aug. 1, and one of the schools that chose to get an early start

was Meadowview Christian. They started their workouts on this past Friday.

One of the things that stood out from last year was the fact that they had only three seniors on the team that had any playing time from last year.

With Dallas County adding two new coaches to its staff, they look to improve on last seasons record of 5-6.

One of the state’s most dominant private schools over the last 10 years has been Morgan Academy. With the season coming up they plan to start their season practices today with afternoon practices for the first week, and then going to two a days.
