Selma swamps the Bayou

The Selma Cloverleafs took the first game of a double header last night at Bloch Park against the Baton Rouge River Bats 6-5.
In the top of the first the Cloverleafs picked up four runs on hits by Jose Colon, Joe Whitmere, Brock Lowell, and Nick Collins to take the early lead.
In the top of the second the River Bats picked up two runs on a Clint Wilkerson home run, and in the top of the third they picked up one more to make the score 4-3.
In the top of the sixth the Cloverleafs gave up two more when Kevin Perett hit a single to right with the bases loaded to make the score 5-4.
In the bottom of the ninth Lowell hit a single to right to score Joe Colvin from second,and take the game 6-5.
The Cloverleafs play the River Bats again tonight at Bloch Park at 7 p.m.
