Edward Allen Maull

Edward Allen Maull, 74, of Selma, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at a Montgomery hospital.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at Brown Chapel AME Church with the Rev. James Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include two sons, William Hale and Harold James Hale; three daughters, Francesca Maull Roscoe, Dorrie Hale Jemison and Brenda Hale Russell; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sons-in-law; two daughters-in-law; six brothers-in-law; 12 sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearlie Hale Maull and his parents, Fred Maull and Margaret Jones Maull.

Active pallbearers are United States Military Honor Guard.

Honorary pallbearers are, Frank James Roscoe Jr., Rodrick Allen Hale, Carlton Russell Jr., Bryan Cory Jemison and Jesse David Hall III (grandsons).

Mr. Maull was an Alabama State Representative, District 67. He was also a retired Master Sergeant United States Air Force, and a retired educator in the Selma City Schools.

William T. Cook

William T. Cook, 54, of Selma, died Monday, July 8, 2002 at a local hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at Green St. Baptist Church with the Rev. Carver officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Cook; one son, William Cook Jr., two daughters, Wonder Spivey and Arenetta Sajna; two brothers, Lee Alfred Cook Jr. and Andrew Nelson Cook; four grandchild; two sons-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives; and a special friend, Thelma Towns of Selma.

Active pallbearers are family and friends.

Charles Savage

Charles Savage, 49, of Sardis, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at his home.

Graveside services are at 12 noon Saturday, July 13, at Hope Lutheran Cemetery with Pastor Steven Washington officiating and Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his mother, Corene Manning; two daughters, Patricia Diane Cook and Rosalyn Denise Knight; brothers, Theodore Savage, Alphonso Savage and Paul Savage; seven sisters, Lueretha Chandler, Barbara Chandler, Geraldine Landers, Aldoisy Goings, Rubie Savage, Valerie Savage and Rudella Savage; two grandchildren; one son-in-law; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; nine nephews and 12 nieces; four aunts; and one uncle.

He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Savage and a brother, Willie Manning.

Active pallbearers are friends and relatives.

Adolph Chappell

Adolph Chappell, 66, of Figtree / Jones, died Sunday, July 7, 2002 at a local nursing home.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at Mallard Chapel AME Church, Autauga County, with Minister Henry Chappell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include brothers, L.C. Chappell and Rev. William Jenkins; sisters, Rosie Mae Leshure, Ida Mae Steele, Daisey Mae Bert; three brothers-in-law; and sisters-in-law.

Relius Crenshaw Sr.

Relius “Nig” Crenshaw Sr., of Lowndes County, died Saturday, June 29, 2002.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at Greater Mt. Olive AME Zion Church with the Rev. E. Washington officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Dorcas Crenshaw; seven daughters, Mary Hunter, Eloise (Joe) Holston, of Montgomery, Lillie Butts of Phenix City, Alice Mae Smith, Zina Lee McCall, Cathleen (Willie Frank) Doss all of Calhoun and Theodora (Terrell) Crosby of Coosada; three sons, Sylevester (Emma) McCall, Alonzo (Rose) McCall III and Lee McCall all of Montgomery; one brother, Ernest Crenshaw of Birmingham; four sisters-in-law; Emma McCall, Susie McCall of Jersey, Willie Nell Towns, Lee Ella Walton of Calhoun; one brother-in-law Alonzo (Mary Ruth) McCall; 35 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Nancy Williams, of Perry County, died Thursday, July 11, 2002, at a Perry County nursing home.
