In a suspected case of arson, fire department personnel found themselves not once but twice in the same area Wednesday morning.

Mark Walker, assistant fire chief at the Selma Fire Department, said fire department personnel first responded to a vehicular fire in front of D and J Automotive Paint and Body, located on Kings Bend Road, at approximately 5:13 a.m.

A wrecker, which was parked directly in front of the business, reportedly caught fire, suffering major damage.

After extinguishing that blaze, fire personnel were back on the scene again a few minutes later. At approximately 5:58 a.m., Walker said D and J Automotive Paint and Body caught fire.

Major damage was reported both inside and outside the business. However, no injuries were reported, said Walker.

Walker said the State Fire Marshall’s Office is currently investigating the incidents.

The owner of the business could not reached for comment.
