George T. Roberts
George T. Roberts, 91, of Selma, died Thursday, June 26, 2003 at his home.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at the Chapel of Miller Funeral Home with Pastor John Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Geraidin Roberts; three step-sons, Michael Murphy, Christopher Murphy and Ben Murphy; three step-daughters, Theresa Pugh, Michelle Dudley and Brenda Strong (Michael Strong); 10 grandchildren; two grandchildren; three sons-in-law; two daughters-in-law; one sister-in-law; four nephews; and one niece.; special friend, Patricia Lewis.
Active pallbearers are friends and family.
Hazel Thompson
Hazel Thompson, 84, of Moundville, died Thursday, June 26, 2003 in Moundville.
Services are at 12 noon Thursday, July 3, at the Chapel of Larkin and Scott Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery, Demopolis with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.
Susie Bell Adams
Susie Bell Adams, 74, of Dallas County, died Saturday, June 28, 2003 at a Perry County nursing home.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at the Chapel of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include two brothers, Howard (Estella) Smith Sr. and James (Mable) Smith; two sisters, Sarah Watts and Katie (Theodore) Parker; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; 18 nephews; 21 nieces; other relative, special niece, Janice Smith.
He was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Calloway Smith, three brothers, Bernice Smith, Joseph Smith and Roosevelt Smith.
Active pallbearers are Steve Smith, Michael Smith, Ronnie Scott, Lawrence Smiley, Howard Smith and Chris Pullon.
Maggie Lou James Worrell Buxton
Maggie Lou James Worrell Buxton,, 93, of Selma, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003.
Services are at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, at the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Linda Tarver officiating. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include sons, James (Alice) Worrell of Sumter, S.C., and William (Earnestine) Worrell of Selma; daughter, Betty Jean (Kenneth) Bodiford of Prattville; grandchildren, Phillip Worrell, Hugh Worrell, Victor Worrell and Ed Worrell, all of Selma, Sandra Duke of South Carolina, Patty Jones of Florida, Cheryl Burton and Steve Bruner both of Washington State; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Buxton was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Buxton and a daughter, Joyce Bruner.
Active pallbearers are Phillip Worrell, Hugh Worrell, Victor Worrell, Ed Worrell, Allen Worrell and Jeremy Moreland.
