The construction of a new Hampton Inn at the intersection of Medical Center Parkway, Highway 80 and Highway 14 is expected to be completed by either October or November, said Tom Bolton, president of Cooper Brothers Construction in Selma, the company that is constructing the project.

The Hampton, which will occupy 36,000 feet, will contain a fitness facility, an indoor swimming pool, a business center and internet access in every room. The entire cost of the project is expected to total approximately 4 million dollars. The hotel, said Bolton, will employ 30 to 35 people.

Bolton said those who are seeking employment with the new hotel should submit their resumes and applications to the local employment office in Selma.
