Southtrust upsets Carquest

Laron Williams scored four times, while Kendrick Lumpkin hit a home run, leading Southtrust Bank to an important 18-15 upset victory over Carquest in the 9 and 10-year-olds division on Saturday, May 25.

Johnathan Harris scored three times and was followed by Richard Ghant, who was driven plateward twice.

Daniel Blackmon and Jabaris Hardy led Carquest offensively, scoring three times each. Demontrell Shelton scored two runs, while Jeremy Gibbs and Eric Holloman each scored a run in the loss.

Elks Lodge 167 9, American Candy 5

Michael Perryman and Will Tipton scored three runs each, leading Elks Lodge 167 to a 9-5 win over American Candy on Saturday, May 25.

Justin Friene scored two runs for the victors, while his teammate, Dewayne Sanders added a run of his own. For American Candy, Reed Stewart scored a team-high two runs, while Tyler Love, Blake Lewis and Michael Clark each scored a runs apiece.

Electronic Service 10, Selma Trophy 0

Electronic Service stormed past Selma Trophy on Saturday, May 25, posting a five-run first inning and a four-run third to grab a four-inning 10-0 shutout victory.

Anthony Thompson and Andre Thompson each scored two runs for the victors, while William Stiles recorded a double and also scored a run.

5 and 6-year-olds

Darrius Hawkins scored a team-high three runs to lead Peoples Bank to a close 15-14 victory over Turf Services on Friday, May 24.

Daniel Bradley, Cyron Ellis and Cameron Walker each scored twice to help lead Peoples Bank to victory.

Turf Services was led offensively by Chase Cammack, who scored three runs. His teammates, Jay Hardy, Taylor Powell and Tyler Talley pushed across two runs apiece in the loss.

Selma Hardware 28, Henry Brick 10

Selma Hardware blasted Henry Brick 28-10 on Friday, May 24. Aaron Cogle, Alston Ivey and Joe Gibson scored three runs apiece in the win, while Dexter Fluty and Reid Deason scored a run a piece.

Henry Brick received its production from Jack Little and Caleb Harris, who each scored two runs. Jondarrius Gregory, Logan Roberts and Hunter Hale each added a run apiece in a losing effort.

Discount Tire 19, Ray Davis 5

Troy Tolbert and Mark Black scored three runs apiece, leading Discount Tire to a 19-5 victory over Ray Davis on Friday, May 24.

Heath Dax, David Holloman and John Hill each added a run apiece for the victors.

Ray Davis was led by Blake Harris and Hunter Desch, who both scored two runs each in the loss.

Rountree Electric 17, Rush Carpets 16

Rountree Electric scored five runs in the bottom of the third inning to come from behind and defeat Rush Carpets 17-16 on Friday, May 24.

Josh Jetter, Bernard Vasser, Eric Armstead, Harrison Watters, James Wells, Adam Seele, Navarious Walker and Benjamin Davis each scored runs for the victors.

Rush Carpets was led offensively by Trent Salter, Brandon Baugh, Sidney Riley, Laderus Parker, Ryan Tindoll, Justin Murray, Brandon Crum, Timothy Hewston, Justin Chandler and Laron Reed, who all scored runs in the loss.

Selma Printing 16, Cosby Ice 10

Selma Printing posted a six-run fourth inning and a seven-run fifth inning, vaulting past Cosby Ice 16-10 on Friday, May 24.

Adam Dudley, Lane Warren, Trey Powe, Jaquez Fields, Robbie Wiese, Edward Jackson, Joshua Dukes and Alex Davis each scored runs for Selma Printing.

Ashby Massey, John Olinger, John Murry, Michael Peterson, Byron Montgomery, Austin Tyler, Alex Davis and Larry Puckett all scored runs for Cosby Ice in a losing effort.

Frazer Group 18, Captain D’s 7

Frazer Group scored seven runs in the second inning to break a 4-4 tie, en route to an 18-7 victory over Captain D’s on Friday, May 24.

Dontae Stiles, Allen Grayson, Javarious Brooks, Justin Purdie, Lawrence Hatcher, Christopher Raymond, Chris McGee, Rod Johnson, Derek Walker and Leon Craig all scored runs for the victors.

Captain D’s Luke Reynolds, Austin Allen, Joshua Martin, Davin Rogers and Davian Rogers scored runs in the loss.

7 and 8-year-olds

Roto Rooter 18, Clean Machine 5

Roto Rooter held on to its share of first place in the 7 and 8-year-olds division on Saturday, May 25, getting by Clean Machine 18-5.

Bo Summers had a game-high, three-run performance for Roto Rooter, while Cullen Nickles and Greg Harris each recorded two runs each in the win. Logan Campbell and C.J. Chestnut each scored once for Roto Rooter.
