A hold-up at the Selma Curb Market resulted in one man being sent to a local hospital.

According to Selma Police reports, a group of men entered the Curb Market at 5:30 a.m. on Monday and demanded money.

Christepher S. Ethridge, working as cashier at the store, was shot and sent to Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

According to Claire Twardy, spokeswoman for Vaughan, Ethridge was brought to the emergency department and was released at 7:09 a.m. Monday.

“He was not admitted into the hospital,” Twardy said. In other words, the injuries sustained from the shooting were not life-threatening.

Selma police reports said no suspects have been arrested in the early morning shooting.

Little other information was available Monday due to the Memorial Day holiday. Sgt. Joe Bills, shift supervisor during the day shift, said he could not release information on the shooting. He said detectives, not in the office Monday, would have to answer questions.

However, police reports did indicate that $1,500 was stolen from the Selma Curb Market.

According to a Selma Curb Market manager, the store does have security cameras in place, though it was unclear if the suspects had been caught on camera.
