I may be wrong, but I believe that Boy of the Year was held last night (Tuesday). Didn't know the Selma Times-Journal could tell the future... :)

I tend to agree with MooKooJoe. Barrett Welch just didn't seem to know alot about sports. His news stories seem alot better than his sports stories. Welcome to the Selma Times-Journal Buster! Good luck covering the many sporting events in Dallas County!

Of course Wal-Mart is going to downplay the rumors. What are they going to say? "Yeah, we've heard the rumors, but we don't know when the shooting will be, but y'all still come on down to Wal-Mart!"

CynicalSelma: Are you talking about the wreck on Hwy 22? I heard there was a bad wreck out there killing one person and injuring others.

Supposedly to the readers of the online Selma Times-Journal. I don't know why though. I am sure people read other news websites or watch the news. Why can't they just upload local news?

Pari1220: You are very inconsiderate! I can not believe how rude people can be! How could you call someone a woman beater and not even now them? What does that even have to do with this story?
I never once said it was okay to kill someone. Maybe you should go back and read my posts. I was simply seeing both sides of the story. Why must you be so closed mind and see only one side? There are always two sides to a story. Mr. Simpson is a human being just like the rest of us and he has a family too.

pari1220: How can you say that I am trying to excuse what he did? I have plenty of friends that have come home and currently suffering from post war trauma. It is a sad and difficult situation. I think what he did is awful. A child is going to grow up without their mother or father. I could not even begin to imagine this. Maybe there is another side to the story though. Has anyone thought that she might have done something to trigger an emotion and he did something in a rage and is now going to be paying for it for the rest of his life? I am not trying to start an argument or disagreement. It is a devastating tragedy.

Shouldn't a blog be under the category of blog then... and not news? It is confusing the fact that this "blog" changes inside itself every couple of hours. Why not create a new entry? Just an observation.

First I would like to say my thoughts and prayers are with both of these families during this time. This is a very tragic situation and people should think before they just comment on a story. In regards to the comments about being a rapper, thug, etc., I understand why you say that. But why must you assume since this was a black on black crime that he was a thug. From what I understand, Mr. Simpson recently returned from the war. He has had a hard time coping with living back in the U.S., as can be expected. I am not saying this excuses this behavior at all, but what I am saying is that you shouldn't judge a person just because of one side of the story. Please be considerate of both families during this time. Both sides will be reading these comments. Again, my prayers and condolences are with both families.
