These kind of people need to be put under. These kids are getting worse and worse. Look at all the stories....Rape....Purse Snatcher....etc. What is our younger generation turning into? Sharon...I totally agree with you.....NO BAIL and PUT THEM UNDER.

selmian...i do take precautions and so do my children. They have it in their pockets. But we as parents still deserve the respect to be notified of "confirmed cases". And furthermore, some of the parents with sick children send their kids to school anyway so our kids are at risk because of that. If my child even has the slightest fever....they aren't going...I don't want to expose other children.

selmanativegirl99....did you say a note went home saying there was case in both schools? Let us see your note cause I (nor anyone I have spoken to) has gotten a note stating anything. And if there was a "so-called note" stating there was a case in both schools, than why does the Selma Times Journal state that there are no cases in Dallas County School system (Read the second sentence of this article).

Sharon.....HEY.....(WAVING).....saharawinds....Thank you for your support also. Us parents deserve the right to know what is going on in our schools....we are paying the tax dollars right? So we deserve the respect to be kept informed. I feel like I have been left out in the dark but thank goodness I am a "CHATTY CATHY" and will talk and find out what is going on. And Selmian....I did not say to close the schools down, I just was simply stating that we (as parents) should be informed of what is going on and that if a "confirmed case" does arise...we have the right to know. And Dallas County Schools, as well as Meadowview Christian, has "CONFIRMED CASES". I know this for a FACT!!

uknowit....my child is a student at Martin Middle School and I am very concerned about this matter. I was told about the "confirmed cases" a few days ago and it just blew my mind. And there has been 80 kids (or more) a day out with "flu-like" symptoms. I totally agree with you uknowit....they need to do something about this cause our kids are scared to go to school due to this "illness". When I saw this article and it stated that there was no cases of the Swine Flu in the Dallas County System, I was outraged. They do not need to keep the "confirmed cases" a secret (but I would not give the child's name to protect him/her), they need to let us parents know about them. I just wish they would stop sweeping this information under the rug and make us aware so we can prepare for this in case our kids get this "flu".

The teacher was not spreading rumors of any kind....she was stating the facts. She is a teacher at a Dallas County School and she would know.....this is not a rumor...this is the truth. I know there are rumors of alot of kids out with the "Swine Flu" but I know there is already 4 "Confirmed" cases. There are two cases in an elementary school and two in a middle school. I will not reveal the names of the students but I will say these students are not in school right now.

I would just like to say that I have no idea where they are getting there statistics (or information) from but they are wrong. There are several "CONFIRMED" cases in the Dallas County School System and also in the Private School System. There are alot of other cases (which is just the regular flu) but get real....we do have the "SWINE FLU" here in Dallas County. Stop trying to cover it up and let the parents know. Also, these schools should be sending out letters to the parents about it and what precautions they are taking. Instead, these schools are talking to the kids and getting them upset. Some kids are not responsible (or old enough) to relay the messages back to the parents. I am furious that the schools are not letting the parents know anything and that we have to find out thru our kids.
One more thing parents....just make sure your kids are healthy before sending them off to school. Some parents send their kids to school just so they can enjoy some "time off". If your child is sick, keep them at home. My kids have come home several days saying kids are coming to school "sick as a dog" and laying their heads down and coughing and sneezing all over the place. I have sent my kids to school with hand sanitizers in their pockets so they will have extra protection.
Don't try and cover up these cases.....make us parents aware of what is going on in the school. It is a good thing that some of us parents are friends with teachers who are in these schools and have informed us via phone.
