I think the entire City goverment should be audited. All this secrecy and whatever else is all a bunch of Bulls***. Selma needs to move out of the OLD REPUBLIC and into an age where a white and black person can both have the same job and be paid the exact same payrate. I'm appalled at the way this City is run. The Selma Police Department and the Selma City Court System needs to be investigated also because of the high number of guilty verdicts that are given in court and the fact that this system is biased also. It's so sad that the judges take the word of the officers and even if the person is found not guilty they are still forced to pay court costs and whatever else they may have to pay.
The Police Department arrests people based on hearsay and a lot of times they come to neighborhoods like mine (8th Ward) and don't know what's going on. Just an example, they arrested a young lady one morning only because the woman who called them said this lady called her a bitch! The police didn't hear this woman say anything and they both lied on this lady. I know this woman didn't say anything to this lady and when she came back through the officers stopped her and made her get out of her vehicle and arrested her. They believed what this lady said and there were other people standing outside and the police didn't question anybody else. Both officers said they heard this woman call the other woman out of her name but I saw it all and IT"S A LIE. Because I stay in the area and don't want these folks harrassing me, I can't reveal who I am. But I can say this: THE OFFICERS AND THE LADY, DENISE STRONG, ARE ALL LYING! THE ONLY THING THAT THIS WOMAN MAY BE GUILTY OF IS SAYING HA, HA, HA.
IS IT A CRIME NOW TO LAUGH AT PEOPLE, EVEN IF YOU ARE TREPASS AWAY FROM THAT PERSON!
THIS LADY MS. STRONG, HAS A TRACK RECORD WITH THE SPD AND SINCE SHE HAS BEEN LIVING IN THIS NIEGHBORHOOD I'VE SEEN THIS LADY GET ARRESTED NUMEROUS TIMES AND TAKEN TO JAIL FOR DRUGS BEING FOUND IN HER HOME AND SHE GOT OUT NO LESS THAN A HOUR AND A HALF LATER AND HER CHILDREN WERE IN THE HOME WHEN THE DRUG BUST TOOK PLACE AND SHE STILL HAS THE CHILDREN. SHE DON'T NEED KIDS IF YOU SELLING DOPE OUT THE HOUSE WITH THE KIDS. i HAVE EVEN WATCHED AS THE OTHER LADY PASSES BY MS. STRONG HOUSE AND MS. STRONG HAVE THE KIDS OUTSIDE CALLING THE OTHER WOMAN OUT OF HER NAME. AND THE DRUG BUST THAT TOOK PLACE AT HER HOME HAPPENED A WEEK BEFORE THEY TOOK RODERICK SANDERS TO JAIL.
NOW SHOULD SOCIETY CONTINUE TO LET PEOPLE LIKE THIS WHO ARE KNOWN DRUG DEALERS AND GOD KNOWS WHAT ELSE, CONTINUE TO TAKE DOWN NIEGHBORHOODS?
IT'S SAD! A LOT OF THINGS NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED AROUND SELMA!

Well, I was present at the time of the drug bust and no drugs were found at the residence. And maybe he shouldn't have been out on bond, but he was and there's nothing we can do about that part. Because if his people or whoever has money to get him out of jail then they are the stupid one. For a long time Selma has been a place where it's all about who you know and what you got, and that's sad, because if it was someone else they would have never gotten thier probation hold removed. I fault the State Probation Department and Bruce Maddox. Just because he sat in jail for a little while that was no reason to lower his bond so he could get out on the Murder charge in the first place. Like I said if it was someone like me I would probably still be sitting in the DCJ awaiting my court appearances for the Murder!

eyeonyou you are dead right.Downtown selma need to be did up maybe beautiful.It Would bring more tourist to selma and if the council member could work together maybe selma would have alot more.Mayor Evens got his work out for him.He really gone have to clean house.

I feel that Mr. Marshall have been there all those year just to lose his job to a younger female. I'm a younger female
but i would not want no one to lose there job cause my employer want me to work at that particple place. tjmgyo I really don't think he going to be late fileing the sued this time hopeful he have better snice.

TA was a cool person everybody makes mistakes. I do think he should do his time only if he is proven guilty. My preys and blessing go out to both families.

I think taht if the people in selma will gety to get together and help watch out for each other and maybe even protest selma will be a better place. I send my preyer out to Helen faimly. I think that if the prosecter will step and start give these thugs the time they really need instead of letting them back out on the street selma will be a better place. I think that selma new cheif really got his work cut out for him.Selma really need more police offricer if you know what i mean. Please people start come together and finding ways to make our home a better place UNLESS YOU ARE TO SCRAYED.We are allowing these supposed to be gangster take over our town. The time is now for us to syand up and take back selma. The kids can't even go to the skating rink for these supposed to be thugs. JUST SIT DOWN AND THINK ABOUT PEOPLE AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.....

She should be setting a better example for the children. My opinion is I think that she should be releive from her duty. They always stay that we should set example for our children, well hell look at her she give our children and example that it is okay to fight(even though some kids fight regardless). She should be very ashamed of herself.
