Saharawinds, I agree with you 100%. What you did was not stirring up trouble, it should have been put on the table because it was a rediculious act on Mr. G's behalf. Dr. O was a good choice. I just hate that the board is giving him such a hard time. Since I know who you are......can you answer one question. Isn't it the boards job to enforce rules and regulations and not micro manage the super? Please shed some light on what the role of the board is. Why is it that the board agress with some recommendations of the super but don't stand behind him? Ex: The mess with the central office employees.

I just don't know where to start. This is a mess! Dr. Obasohan, keep your head up!!! Mr. Givan, what kind of a man are you? How can one man look another in the eye and ask him to resign from a job? This man has a wife and three children. You (school board) up rooted this man from his home and now look how your treating him. I think what he is doing is good for our children. If we (parents) keep allowing politics to play a part in our system....I just hate to think of what will happen to our children. I have a granddaughter who will soon be attending public schools and I'm hoping by then the Board will have their stuff together.
Dr. O, I am a christian and I believe in alter prayer. From now on when I go to the alter I'm going to say a special prayer for you. Mr. Givan, I'm going to pray for you too cause you need it.

Freeselma, how is it that you know so much or at least think you know so much? I agree with "truelight" are you wishing failure or success. Were the employees illegally removed or is that what you are assuming? I don't know what's going on with the people of Selma. If it wasn't Dr. Obasohan it would be someone else that you are attacking. Get a life and stop being small minded! Give the man a chance he hasn't been here that long. I'm sure he hate that he step into this pile of horses*&%.

This is a shame! He works at Wal-Mart and has been employed there for sometime. $20 worth of crack.....he was probably going to smoke in lieu of selling.

Isn't Jeff Davis already named after someone? Is it fair to remove his name? I don't know of anything that JL did (except for get rich off of other people) to deserve having a man's name removed and replaced with his. Name the street that he resided on after him and be done with it!

I am so sadden by this. I hate this for her son, mother and other family members. I am glad that her mother has some closure.
What is going on in Selma? Can someone please answer that question! I am sick of this our city needs some help FAST!!!

What is going on in America? The courthouse should not be named after JL nor should they change the name of the street. No matter what Jeff Davis did his name should not be removed and replaced by another. If the citizens wantd the named changed why did they wait so long to voice it? JL's law office was once on that street and there was no fuss about it then so why now. He was no MLK, Jr. !
