Hello 4h1sglOry,

That was funny. (very hillarious)

Getting back to what is at hand. The building is in pretty good condition. There are people in the community who met and are taking actions. So, let's move on to the next item on the agenda, please.

This is so ironic.

I agree that the City attorney and former police chief should be held accountable. If we are going to hold former Mayor's accountable, let's start with Mayor Smitherman and the $1,000,000.00 that is still missing. Then let's work our way on up shall we?

By the way, some rumour is floating around that it has been paid. Well, that's an out right lie.

Where's the budget? It's sad, no one is complaining about that.

I would consider it an honor to serve for the amount of $0.00.

Wow, 4hisglory, your tone against people is hypocritical as when compared to your post name. (Sounds like jealousy or envy and there’s nothing glorious in that.) Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Nevertheless…

The question is: Where is the local historical society? They want to save historic buildings, i.e. Selma City School Board on Franklin and the building on Tremont. They should be at the forefront to save and preserve the building.

Always a fight in Selma, Alabama. Sometimes even against the very people whom places of significance have helped.

1 Corinthians: 2:14: But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

BY THE WAY: The million dollars that was stolen under Mayor Smitherman's administration has not been repaid. At last count approximately 30% had been paid. That money is still outstanding.

This Council do alot of things behind closed doors and through special sub-committees. This doesn't seem fair. I bet another bond issue is on the rise again.

"Those of us that were raised with better manners know that some things should never be the subject of a joke, no matter what spin you put on it."

My, my,my...I guess the Sunday afternoon "pic-nic" southern lynchings fall in this category of being raised with manners.

Yes, City Council consider this closely: I and three other Selmians filled up my gas tank and went to the movies on Friday in Prattville. It was packed. There were so many Dallas County tags, I wondered if anyone had remained home in Dallas. The movie we wanted to see was sold out. Rather than returning to Selma, we drove to Montgomery. While in Montgomery at the Eastdale Mall, we shopped because the movie we were seeing was showing at 9:30. Had dinner in the Mall and everything. WOW! It was FUN! And guess what, I ran into at least 10 other people who had done the same thing. So yes, think about it Council

9. Why is my city not listed?

The data on this site comes from the U.S. Conference of Mayors' MainStreet Economic Recovery Report. If a city did not include its "shovel-ready" projects on that list, you won't find it here.

QUESTION: WHY ISN'T OUR MAYOR WORKING ON THIS TO ENSURE THAT SELMA IS ON THAT LIST? OR WHY ISN'T THE MAYOR BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE ALSO?

On Why not Selma?
