I am not afraid!!!! Anyone with any common sense would be interested in the safety of children.
All of you completely distorted my comments. I am not trying to start panic. People sometimes jump into things without enough thought. I know Dr. Taylor; actually, I attended his open house when he moved into Dr. Bashir's old office. I wish him the best!!!!! GladImoved, you are too quick to judge!!! I never attacked anyone!!!

There are people who don 't go to the skating rink or the bowling alley because of safety issues. We don't have a movie theater; the last one closed after the owner was shot to death in the parking lot of the theater. If Dr. Taylor is aware of the economic situation, are you assuming that he will be handing out free passes? Are is this place only for an elite group of people? Do you know we have had difficulty in obtaining certain businesses in Selma because of the demographics? Fast food restaurants come and go. However, we have not had a nice chain restaurant to locate here etc......

What will be the cost to patrons? How many people will be able to afford to use the facility? How secure will this place be considering the amount of criminal activity in Selma? I am not trying to derail this business, but I do have concerns.

Leo, I believe in teaching the basics first, too. People have been coming up with so-called progressive ideas for years as the quality of public education has declined. Schools are used to promote social/political agendas rather than prepare our youth to be productive/ethical adults. There is a great need for better teaching of the English language. I am not talking about making students write critical analyses of literature. The structure of the language and the rules of standard English need to be emphasized. Practical writing is not even taught in schools any more. What happened to civics? Schools don't even teach responsibility as a citizen.
In regard to the renovation of the SOD building, what happened to the needed renovation/restoration at Selma High? Can the system afford to do both projects?

Perhaps, the truck driver left because he or she was scared even though the drive of the other vehicle caused the accident. He or she may have been traumitized. And why do we have to bring up the race card? The friends and families of the deceased don't need to deal with that mess. I know they need answers. I pray they will get them soon. I wonder how much alcohol consumption was involved in this accident. There have been other tragic accidents on 219, too.

Dixie Mom, I suppose I am a radical, too. The only news network that presents both sides is Fox. Liberals, left wingers, etc. are so full of hate. I have watched all the networks. Fox was the only one that gave adequate coverage of the tea parties. Fox did not organize them. Americans that are fed up did. The participants did not brake windows, trash cars, spew out foul language, disrobe, perform sexually explicit actions, desecrate the flag, etc. typical behavior of some other groups.
