I see, Pari1220 you are a complainer. If you really wanted change you would do something to make your town better. Nothing changes if, nothing changes. Be a doer of the word, not just a hearer.
Selma will not change until those living in Selma desire a change. Whether your black or white. Quit complaining and be the change you wish to see...

pari1220, I wasn't speaking evil of you...just trying to show you that's what you're doing to your brother, Barack. Read your first post, it was cynical and negative.

Pari1220 you need to be the change you wish to see. Since there are issue with black youth, do something about it. I'm sure there are civic leaders there who will help you if you're really seeking change. If you are not a part of the solution, then you are a part of the problem. What can you do to turn things around instead of being afraid. Talk with your black friends and seek their help. Every issue has a solution if you're willing to work and being that you are a Christian, hard work should not be a problem for you...

Sharon: Amen and well spoken.
Pari1220, it's amazing how you don't want me to question your Christianity but it appears by all of your comments, you are cynical. From your first post, negativity flowed from within you. The God I serve doesn't force His way on anyone. Your opinion is yours. If you feel that President Elect Obama offends you or is your enemy your duty as a Christian is to pray for Him. God said to love your enemy and pray for them. He also said, Do not speak evil of one another brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother speaks evil of the law...Read the book of James 4....
We are to build the Kingdom and encourage one another as well as bear one anothers burdens. Whether you like it or not He is the incoming president. Romans tells us we are to obey the government unless, something is in direct opposition to God's word. He has not told you to sin in any manner.
Stop the hateful rhetoric and pray. Ask God to help you with this situation. He ultimately is in control. If your faith is in Him, why are you fretting over your new president? Fear not and trust God....After all, you are a follower of Christ. Act like it...
Jesus still love you and so do I.

Pari1220, what are you afraid of? Who are you afraid of? People of color scare you!
Have you ever heard the phrase, "face your demons!" The evil within will kill you if you do not let it go.
Try Jesus....If you don't like Him, the devil will gladly take you back!
I still love you and so does Jesus.

Nothing changes if nothing changes! pari1220, Jesus can heal what ails you. He loves you!
There's a saying in the pyschology relm, "Hurt people, hurt people!" Look in the mirror and find the real you....Someone has hurt you. Don't let that hurt ruin your will to see the good in others.
Instead of being hateful or hurtful, learn to disagree agreeably.
Peace to you, God loves you and so do I...

Wow...How sad...People, remember the law of the harvest, you reap what you sow. Spew hatred and hatred will return to you. Spew lies and lies will return to you. Judge and you will be judged! The truth hurts sometimes and change is sometimes scary but a good thing. It seems to me that some of the above posters are afraid of change and afraid of truth. By their comments, they are easily led by those who wish to lead by fear. The righteous will always win, always!
Evil may persist for only so long. Then, that too will pass.

Bigbama, abortion, gays and taxes will always be because they have always been. Bush ran on the same thing and nothing changed. Massachusetts had a ceremony a couple months later. My point...Government will not stop the behavior. While I am opposed to that behavior, I understand that everyone will give an account of their lives. On the other hand, there is a big picture that evangelicals refuse to see. If we are going to stand on issues, let's stand on all issues and not just a select few...
