Chamber gathers after hours
Published Friday, October 30, 2009
Members from the Selma-Dallas County Chamber of Commerce gathered for the Chamber After Hours event at The Real Estate Gallery Thursday.
“We’re primarily a real estate company, but we feature local artists as well,” said A.C. Reeves, co-owner of the company.
“We always try to keep art here and do shows.”
This month’s featured artist is Bill Harrison. All displayed art in the gallery is from Selma or Alabama artists.
Harrison is a renowned artist from Fairhope. He is known artistically for his post-impressionistic style and “fast and loose technique.”
Harrison has taught some classes recently in Selma.
Reeves and other Chamber members want these events to revive the business community.
“The Chamber is trying to get new life and get business people together,” Reeves said.
Meetings are every other month and alternate between after work gatherings and breakfast get-togethers.
