A message to President Barack Obama
Published Sunday, November 22, 2009
Dear Mr. President:
This month marks the one-year anniversary of your election to the presidency of the United States, the greatest nation on earth. You have shown that you do not understand the exceptional stature of our country by apologizing for America to foreign leaders and literally bowing down to monarchs/emperors.
You choose to ignore the billions of dollars the taxpayers have given to foreign countries in continuous aid (forever) and for reconstruction in Europe and Japan after World War II. Instead of attending the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, Mr. President, you sent a cryptic message, failing to mention the two leaders that really made it happen, Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher. Their actions ended the Soviet Union oppression in Eastern Europe.
Now, let’s review what’s been happening since my October letter. The most encouraging development has been the recent gubernatorial elections in New Jersey and Virginia. Of course, the Liberals scoff at the notion that the two Republican victories had anything to do with you. That’s pure Bull! Your big government/socialistic policies are the reasons for your loss!!
Your dithering on Afghan commander General McChrystal’s request for more troops is costing American lives every week. While campaigning, Mr. President, you proclaimed that Afghanistan was the real war, not the one in Iraq. You are our commander-in-chief. Send more troops or get the hell out. In my view, your no-win strategy will just get more of our forces killed for no good reason.
Your health care bill is an abomination, all 2,074 pages of it, and a bill that’s so voluminous and convoluted, that few can read and understand it, so say the experts who have scrutinized it. Simply put, the voters are against it, because it means big-government control, higher taxes, lower quality and eventual rationing of medical care for all, especially senior citizens. God help us if Obama-care becomes law.
The Fort Hood massacre, based on the early evidence, indicates that the perpetrator, according to his Islamic religious ties, may be guilty of a terrorist act. Your propensity for our dreadful political correctness policies, no doubt influenced Hassan’s associates and authorities, who had suspicions about the killer’s anti-military attitude that he had verbally expressed on numerous occasions. They hesitated to voice their concerns for fear of reprimands.
Finally, your decision to hold civil trials in New York City for the key 9/11/01 admitted planners and enablers goes beyond the pale. This must be a deal with your ACLU lawyer friends, and your promise that a chosen ACLU few would get a chance to defend the self-admitted killers of 3000 innocent American citizens. Your claim that AG Eric Holder made this decision is a joke.
Your report card grade, Mr. President, after ten plus months in office: A solid “F”
Sincerely,
Byrd Looper
Selma

Mr. Looper, you are so right. The latest poll I have seen on the "health-care" is that the majority of Americans don't want this. The U.S. Senate voting yesterday to "discuss" the bill after the Thanksgiving break, is totally going agaist the will of the people of this country. Raising taxes during a recession, is the worst thing you can do. PEOPLE please wake up. We are headed down a bumpy road of no return. Our children and grand-children will never be able to pay China, for what we are borrowing, in just 10 months of the Obama, Reid, and Pelosi reign. For some reason, they believe they were annointed, not elected. Write, e-mail, or call the White House, Con. Pelosi, and Sen. Reid---speak up. Become a TEA Party person. By the way, the T.E.A. stands for taxed enough already, it has nothing to do with the TEA Party in Boston Harbor, which was against taxation without representation.

Re the civil trials for terrorists:
While Obama will give terrorists responsible for the death of thousands a civil trial, with full rights and protections, a young Canadian guilty of far lesser crimes, if guilty at all, will once again be put through the military commission process which, despite being far less fair, failed to convict him in the past.
The Obama Administration justifies this because the terrorists killed thousands of civilians while the young Canadian is charged with killing a soldier in battle. He was 15 at the time of his capture, having been involved in the Afghan war by his father. He was charged with murder and categorized as a war criminal because he was the only insurgent left alive, although barely, after the battle was over. There is also strong evidence that he was not responsible for the death.
He has been held in Guantanamo for 8 years without a fair trial, and it seems the Obama Administration has no intention of giving him one now, no doubt because they have a weak case.
Under Obama-justice, this young man would be better off if he had blown up a building in a city instead of being born into the wrong family which lead to his involvement in the Afghan war, and to his becoming a 15 year old "war criminal".

"He has been held in Guantanamo for 8 years without a fair trial, and it seems the Obama Administration has no intention of giving him one now, no doubt because they have a weak case."
President Obama has only been in office 10 months. So 7.2 years of this individual incarceration, former President Bush was in leadership. Based on your above statement you are saying that former President Bush and Dick Chaney arrested a young man without cause. You are also saying that the information that former President Bush and Chaney used to hold this person in captivity is weak.
Now you want President Obama to clean up the mess that was created 8 YEARS AGO. It appears that you were patient with former President George W. Bush for 8 years yet now 7.2 years later it is President Obama's fault that President Bush did nothing. There is no logic in the above comment.

"Send more troops or get the hell out" , seems this method could quite possibly be considered a rash decision or an uneducated one at best. I dont think that any of our armed service members would feel too comfortable with either. "Getting the hell out" would only leave Afghanistan just as dangerous and even more volatile than it was before a military presence there, and sending more troops without a concise plan of action that addresses how many troops, where are they to be sent, what are their specific objectives, and what are their long term withdrawal goals, would be considered incompetent leadership in any educated opinion. To address the point regarding the massacre at Fort Hood, what fiber of your being contains the ability to place the responsibilty of ONE man's actions on President Obama? If we are to call a spade a spade, then why would George Bush not be to blame for the actions of those self admitted 9-11 hijackers? Was he not Commander in Chief on that September day? Now, I do not in any way place the blame of many on one, but in your book, Mr. Looper, I think our chapters would read quite a bit differently. Lastly, sometimes an apology for apparent and blatent wrongdoing is necessary for even the possibility of reconciliation to begin, so, Mr. Looper when you can produce evidence that washes the hands of this Nation so that they can AGAIN shine lily white, please dont hesitate to to let us know. Until then, may the one and only, the God of Abraham bless and keep the United States of America.

truthaware wants us to apologize to the terrorists. It is our entire fault. Blame the innocent victims of 9/11. It is an oft repeated refrain of liberals. They cannot understand that Islamofascists only want us dead. Muslim extremists do not want an apology and do not want us to help them climb out of their miserable existence created by their miserable religion. They only want to continue to wallow in their hatred of all things Jewish and all things Western. They only want to continue their suppression of women, giving them no rights or freedom. Having no concept of religious freedom or tolerance, they only want to force Islam on the rest of the world by aggression and terrorist acts.

Cosmo89, I believe you misunderstood what I meant. I only wanted to remind Mr. Looper that the US is not completely innocent and has made mistakes, none that even remotely warrant an attack on Americans. I do not sympathize with terrorists or the like but I do believe that our responsibility as Christians is to attempt to show others the Truth and by doing so, the supernatural power of the risen Lord can and will do miraculous works.

Dear Mr President;
I voted for you and I will continue to vote for you and your Party. The reasons are as follows;
1). I am so proud that a Politician in today's environment, that will promote policies that ignore big business money and power.
2). I am so impressed that someone that is in office, does not cow down to health care insurance executives because of their immoral business practices.
3). I love the idea that a politician puts my life 'as very important' and does everything to prove that.
3). That you was handed a basket full of issues from a moronic previous administration, and are fixing them one at a time.
4). That you share the ideal that we are and always will be a very moral and just nation.
5). That you inspired us that gave up on our voices being heard, to get back and involve ourselves this great system of government we have.
6). That you are willing to protect this nation, not matter the opposition.
7). That finally we have a person of great intelligence to fill the great office of The President in our country.
8). That you know our constitution and at the same time respect our constitution.
etc. etc. etc.
Mr. President, I am more proud now to be an American, than ever before and I thank you for that.
