SELMA — Police are investigating a Wednesday night robbery and asking the public for help.
On Wednesday around 9:20 p.m., two men entered a store in the 500 block of Cahaba Road. The subjects approached the 24-year-old cashier and one showed him a handgun. They demanded money.
The victim gave them $300 of his money and about $500 out of the register, according to Selma Police Sgt. Doug Stewart. After the subjects got the money, they fled the scene.
Officers are asking if anyone has information about the robbery to please contact authorities at police department at 874-6611, the Secret Witness Line at 874-2190 or Crime Stoppers at 877-3530.
Crime Stoppers pays up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.

It's HOLIDAY TIME in Selma Alabama!!!!!!! All business owners should get a 9mm and strap it on your side for arriving "customers". It won't take but one "non-paying" customer to change this stealing in Selma. Protect your property!!!!!

Remember the little package store that was at Broad St. and the railroad? Guy come into rob it many years ago and the owner busted a cap in his behind. Stopped it for the duration of time he owned it I'll tell you.
Picks on Highland, man came in and tried to rob him too with a pipe in a brown paper sack on Christmas morning many years ago. He made it to the middle of Highland ave. before he got dropped. Picks never got robbed again either as long as he owned it.
Leave the 9mm's alone get a 40 and I'm not talking about a Schlitz Malt liquor. ;)
People, I will tell you this, you can bash the police all you want but if someone has intentions of doing you harm there's no force in the world that can or will stop them. Don't get me wrong, in a perfect world it would be nice to have a police officer on every corner, but right now we are far from being in a perfect world. Just make sure that you are familiar with your weapon and that you are right when/if you decide to pull the trigger cause you might find yourself on the wrong side of the law.

I agree. I bet it wouldn't take but a couple bullets in the head to one of these robbing thugs by a store owner... and it might deter some of this crime a bit. There has to come a time when people have the right to protect THEIR PROPERTY AND LIFE....even if it means by bullets.

"Due process?" "Due process?" We don't need no stinking due process. Just light um up and sort out the bodies later. popdukes12
