Don’t take from someone to give to another

Published Friday, November 13, 2009

Dear editor,

You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the industrious out of it. You don’t multiply wealth by dividing it. Government cannot give anything to anybody that it doesn’t first take from somebody else. Whenever somebody receives something without working for it, somebody else has to work for it without receiving. The worst thing that can happen to a nation is for half of the people to get the idea they don’t have to work because somebody else will work for them, and the other half to get the idea that it does no good to work because they don’t get to enjoy the fruit of their labor.

The welfare state has failed everyone. Not only does it kill the working man with taxes, it also fails those who REALLY need the help because the majority of the money does not actually get to those who need it.

IF we weren't FORCED to carry a welfare state, more money would, voluntarily, get to those who actually need it and those who didn't would be FORCED to get off of their behinds and work for it.

AMEN!!! And now the Obama Administration is talking about "taking" money from PAYROLL TAXES to fund this joke of a Healthcare Bill. Since these liberal socialist can't seem to get their way with the citizens the normal way, they'll just steal from your check now. I DON'T THINK SO!!! You think the TEA PARTIES are bad now, just you wait.

Amen Gene!!!! The only thing I could add is that the people who dictate the redistribution of the wealth usually make sure that they stay fat and lazy.

TigerFan36701: Thank you, I have heard of them, but had never read any of them before. Their great. "Notoriety is often mistaken for fame". I guess this one was what I was driving at (excuse the dangling participle). Every sentence in this letter to the editor should have quotation marks around it (with the exception of the final 57 word sentence). These sentences are not original, as I have heard each of them a hundred times in the past few months. Someone has been taking notes while watching conservative t.v. Don't get me wrong, I watch Fox News from Glenn Beck to Gretta every night and I am with them 100%. I just wish Gene would have come up with an original thought. He is capable of it. popdukes12

I wish Glen Beck would come up with an original thought.

Liberty: Can you say "Tea Party"? Who do you think that came from? popdukes12

LMAO Are you kidding me? The Faux News channel completely hijacked the Ron Paul rEVOLution and have since then, put a "spin" on it to continue the republicrat monopoly BS.

The TEA PARTIES re-inevention originated in 2007, where we raised millions of dollars online for the then presidential candidate Ron Paul.

Funny thing is, the msm like FAUX black-balled him from day one and now that everything he talked about during the election has come to fruition, they are scheduling him on to speak quite often and hanging on to every word.

I love how these little neo-cons like Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh claim to be "libertarians" now. Where were they during the '08 elections? Oh... that's right, they were pushing other neo-cons like McCain and Huckabee - funny how the other side's neo-con got in.

Sorry pop, usually we can find some sort of middle ground but Beck is an idiot, nothing but a parrot who gives half-truths to keep people who THINK they are conservatives coming back for more. Meanwhile, while you are pumping up the ratings for this entertainment "news" channel - you're doing nothing but contributing to the further dumbing down and big government takeover of our nation.

He is the man and he should have been the President.

There's always 2012.

Hisel is right that you can't give something to someone without taking it from someone else, but the someone else we're taking it from is our CHILDREN. You don't just pay off 12 trillion dollars in a few years.

Federal Reserve is out of control. When asked, point blank, to tell congress where the money from the bailouts went, FED chairman Ben Bernanke said, and I quote, "NO."

If our economy even survives this nonsense, it will be generations before the country recovers from our current reckless behavior. You simply can't create trillions of dollars without seriously damaging the value of our currency.

And yes, Glen Beck is a parrot. He saw a huge grass-roots movement raising millions in the name of conservative values and saw dollar signs.

In fact our system of government itself is really the problem. We should really get rid of it altogether. Let's amend the Constitution to change the whole three branches of government idea. Let all of our officials be like judges. Once they get in they are in for life. Then we would never have to worry about the mistakes that the voters make by electing those people in Washington who have created all of our problems.

Let's just vote to overturn the whole election process. No more voting. Then we wouldn't have to worry about the mistakes the voters make by putting in these people who keep tinkering with our well-being by trying to help the have-nots and trying to turn other countries into democracies. Maybe democracies are not the best way to go (again isn't that how we got in the mess we are in -- by letting the majority rule?)

True I do know some people who work their fingers to the bone and still do not have health care. But whose fault is that. Let them work harder and longer. If that doesn't work, maybe they can pay for it by putting out those little penny jars at check out.

Or maybe some of those fat old chumps on Medicare could kick in. Why is the government giving Medicare to old people anyway? They don't deserve it anymore than young people!!
