Annual Christmas Bazaar begins Saturday

SELMA — The ladies from Orrville’s Immaculate Conception Parish are joining with those from Selma’s Queen of Peace to stage a Holiday Bazaar at St. Andrew’s Hall Saturday.
“This is the second year we’ve had both parishes come together to hold our Christmas Bazaar,” says the Rev. Carroll Plourde S.S.E., who serves both parishes as pastor.
The Bazaar, which is scheduled from 8 a.m. until noon, will raffle off a quilt and an afghan. Raffle tickets will be offered for a $1 donation each, or a book of six for $5 for the opportunity to win cash and prizes.
“We’ve been working on this project for months,” said Fran Vines, president of Selma’s Catholic Women’s Club. “We have a variety of Christmas items, a number of cross-stitched items and our fresh-baked goods, which always sell out early. And there will be fresh pecans from Orrville.”
The proceeds of the Bazaar will go toward the restoration and maintenance of St. Andrew’s Hall, which was built in 1881 by the Jesuits to house a boys’ school. Today, it serves as a parish center with daily Masses offered in the blue room.

It is the rather large building on Dallas next to ALFA Insurance. Right behind it is the Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
I always get great buys there.
