Marianna, sounds like maybe you should step up and give some insight to the cops. It's always amazing how the main prospects to the crime are "never" the ones that could ever do it. I'm sure it must have been some mysterious phantom driving the guys car responsible for the crime. AND YES, I do believe these brainless scumbags are just dumb enough to shoot into someones house knowing that EVERYONE knows it. Sounds like you might be the only naive one to believe otherwise.

Scruffy2436, you said a mouth full than, not being from neither the GWC homes nor St. Phillip (sixth ward commiunity) but knowing him for his history, it is possible that he left and went back to Detroit where he has family that lives. Also, there his has committed crimes and almost lost his life in the process of doing so. Him and his brother always been that way since I known of them. It seem like the older they got the worse they get.

Those of us who work to make Selma a better place have the right to comment on wastes of air like these people. We are the ones that try to keep jobs here, make schools better and safer, and try to bring new jobs here so others can earn a better life. A lot of times it is not Judge Armstrong. He is over district court where mostly bond hearings and preliminaries are held. Trials and sentencing are held in Circuit court which are presided over by Judges Jones, Meigs, and Wiggins.

SELMA NEEDS ALL OUTSIDE AGENCIES SUCH AS THE FBI, ABI AND OTHERS to assist in a massive sweep of these drug and crime infested areas. The police force we have now will never have the man power, staffing and control to overpower and take control of these streets. A MASSIVE SWEEP is needed here ASAP. This toying around, slapping on the wrist, warning after warning garbage is a waste of time. If you want to get real about Selma crime...then take the measures. Really now? Some of these comments looks as if they're made by illiterate baboons. Not saying all comments, but the ones with the poor structure and grammar. Anyhow, it's examples like this that causes Selma to lose the tourism it used to have. No one wants to come back to this place because it has degraded so much. Me and my friend who left their have put Selma behind us because it has basically degraded into a criminal playground. I used to be somewhat proud of telling people where I am from, but now, it's starting to feel like an insult to say I am from Selma.

Yes, George Evans is the Mayor, but I don't see him shooting into homes while people sleep. He is doing a good job, but even he can't take all of these thugs and raise them. Apparently, their parents didn't do their jobs. Also, with this rap sheet as reported, this Stallworth person, was a monster way before Evans was mayor. I agree, the courts aren't doing their jobs that we entrust them to do. A person, with as many counts against him as Stallworth, should not be allowed back on the streets. The T.V. news, also said he is considered armed and dangerous, please Judge Armstrong, don't give him a bond when he is caught. I just hope this bad seed doesn't have any children, in case it is in his genes, if so 15-20 years from now we may have another just like him.

When will we ever learn? Some of my own people are putting illiteracy and ignorance on display for other races to see and laugh at. The sad part about it is that you don't realize it. Have any of you ever thought about acting civil? You say Evans is doing a great job on "your side of town but not ours"? So is he now responsible for you acting like a bunch of uncivilized hoodlums? There aren't enough cops or city government to make all these thugs do right. That's the part of being responsible and self accountable. The same thing was going on when Perkins was in office for the last 8 years. He didn't do anything either, so what is your point? St. Phillps Street Boys, BrickYard Squard...What a mess and a joke! There are more important things to worry about in the world and in Selma, than a street or where someone lives.. Last I checked most of the St. Phillips Street Boys were in federal custody and I hope the feds come back and clean up the rest of the mess on that street and the BrickYard as well. It speaks for itself. If you drive by theses places, all you see is young people lounging, without a care in word, not trying to get an education or make things better for themselves and their kids. All they want to do is keep beefs going, smoke marijuana, ride around in a beat up car (advertising company products for free...*how stupid*..etc..M &M...... )... And before you all say anything, I am Black, born and raised in Selma. Ignorant, Ignorant, Ignorant. Im not trying to be funny but, I am suprised that the recent rash of people that have started to comment on the website knew how to use a computer... and it speaks for itself on English and keyboarding skills. Very uncivilized I agree, this fortunately in VG is an exception, and James is now serving 20 to life, while if it happened in GWC or on St Phillips it would be the Norm, and you would blame everyone but the mrderer.. You know this has nothing to do with the murder charge but since it has been brought up I must say, my child goes to a private school and its a struggle to pay for it when I am already paying for him to go to public school through my taxes. Problem is I would not send him to a public school due to several facts.

One being that in 1991 Rose Sanders segregated the Selma City School system with her actions.

Two, I will or would not send my child to any school where the police are needed to stand by in order to keep peace while the students are going to and from school. This is not Iraq for christ sakes. Speaking of the Stallworths, I know first hand that the Stallworths have disrupted school at Selma High for years. Hell you couldn't keep them in school to learn and then you couldn't keep them out so others could learn.

Third, the no child left behind act is a hunk of crap. This only holds back the students that have a higher level of learning than those who do not want to learn or have a learning disability.

I would love to save $300 plus dollars a month and put my tax dollars to use but I can't. Selma will never move forward for this exact reason. Who or what company would in their right mind come to a town where right off the bat you will be paying $300 a month per child to safely educate your child/children? There are a lot of parents in this town who can not afford private school but they do with out certain luxuries in life so their kids can get a decent safe education.

How exactly are my Math and History wrong? I stated that rosewood happened 80 years ago, yes it was 86 I realize that, I also realize that when people talk of past events it is common to to do so in ten year incraments, and in no way insinuates EXACTLY 80 years ago.. Pretty sure your the only one that mistook that, but there is your explanation...

As far as history goes I fail to see where I am wrong..
