Firearm licensing act carries frightening implications

The HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 will soon be introduced to the U. S. House. This law will make it illegal to own a rifle with a clip or any pistol unless it is registered.
The owner will be fingerprinted, with a copy of his or her driver's license and Social Security number. You will be required to submit to a physical and mental evaluation upon demand.
The gun owner must pay a $25 record update when a gun is sold. Failing to do so will result in the loss of the right to own a firearm and you are subject to one year in jail. It also requires that guns be locked and inaccessible to children under the age of 18.
They will have the right to inspect at any time and noncompliance is a five-year prison sentence.
Hitler took total control over Germany when he confiscated all private weapons. Don’t be a bunch of sheep, call all your congressmen today.

No one is trying to take your guns, man. They are trying to restrict guns from getting into the wrong hands by making it tougher to get a gun. This is a step in the right direction; maybe this will take some of the guns off the streets. It's people like you who try to scare ignorant, rural-minded folks, which, too, spur them into a frenzy and plays on their fears. I see this all too often. Remember the recent, sparcely-attended Tea Parties which resembled 1950's klan rallie? You are treading on dangerous ground. When you lather up this ignorance, there is no telling how the people you are trying to scare will react. Stop this foolishness!

acourtland: If the Judges did their job by following throught with the laws that are on the books, and the Police would follow up on the purchases from the Gun Dealers, it would go a long way in keeping the guns out of the wrong hands. The common practice used now at the gun dealer is to have their Moms purchase the guns in her name and give these street thugs the gun to carry for protection. Enforce the laws on the books now or we will be like Nazi Germany when Hitler took all of the guns or like Cuba, when Castro grabbed as many guns as he could. How naive can you be that this "Far Left Winged Controlled Government" doesn't have intentions of taking away our guns. By the way, home invasion increased seventeen times in Australia after the guns were taken up.

acourtland, some of the "TEA parties" had tens of thousands of people in attendance. Also, they did not look like KKK rallies. There were blacks, whites, hispanics, and Asians in attendance. There is a real fear among a whole lot of people in this country about their guns. It has been reported that gun dealers are making record profits. I agree, that the wrong people should not have guns, but all we need to do is enforce the gun laws on the books, sentence these people who commit crimes with guns to longer prison time, and quit punishing people who fight back, like that pharmacist who shot the robber recently. If you don't think all taxpaying citizens who don't have a felony record shouldn't be able to have guns to defend themselves, then don't have a gun, and put a sign in your yard saying this home is not protected by a gun-owner, and see what you have left in your home in a week or so. It then became safe for someone to rob you blind.

Even if they make owning a gun illegal, the criminals will be the only ones with guns!!!!!!!!!!
