Deputies arrest an Orrville man for shooting
Published Monday, January 12, 2009
A family’s verbal fight led to a physical confrontation that escalated into a shooting Sunday night.
Deputies arrested Clarence Tolbert, 38, of Orrville and charged him with domestic violence menacing and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
“The fight began when the suspect came home drunk and his step-father wouldn’t allow it,” Investigator Mike Granthum said.
Authorities said during the fight Tolbert choked the victim and at one point broke the front door jamb.
The suspect shot into the home three times, according to Granthum. One bullet went through one wall and lodged in the second wall. He also threw a brick through the rear window of the victim’s car.
Tolbert took his 2-year-old son and left the area on foot, but deputies had already been notified of the incident. The man was apprehended two blocks away.
Deputies placed Tolbert in the Dallas County Jail under bonds totaling $5,500 and a mandatory 12-hour hold due to the domestic violence charge.
Tolbert now faces a Class B felony. If convicted of the charge, he could face two to 20 years in prison and a fine up to $30,000 under the Code of Alabama.

Sure is a low bond. This man should have at least a $50000 bond. And at 38 he shouldn't be living off his family. I am sure he was getting drunk at some bootleggers house considering it was Sunday. How about check them out?
