Hazardous weather outlook for Tuesday

The National Weather Service at Birmingham reports there is a slight risk for severe thunderstorms Tuesday from the cities of Aliceville, Birmingham, Talladega and Wedowee southward.

The primary threat time is between the hours of noon and 10 p.m..

The greatest threat will be from damaging winds. However, tornadoes will be possible also with stronger storms. Flash flooding also will be a concern roughly north of Interstate 20 through 6 p.m.

Strong-to-severe storms are expected to develop in front and along a slow moving cold front, starting early in the afternoon near the Alabama-Mississippi state line, moving eastward throughout the day.
