Family, police search for missing Selma man
Published Monday, April 13, 2009

The last time Johnesha Ross saw her boyfriend, Warner James Rose, he told her he would be right back and they would watch a movie. That was Wednesday at 10 p.m.
Rose, 29, left his residence on Alabama Avenue and has not been seen since. Selma Police officers found the light colored Toyota Camry Rose drove that night on St. Phillips Street Friday.
“He has never done this before,” Ross said. “He doesn’t hang out in on St. Phillips Street either.”
When the father of three children under the age of five, left that night he was wearing a white t-shirt, green Lucky Charms pajamas and black and gray Airforces without socks.
The couple went to get some milk and drop a child off at his mother’s. Ross said Rose made her pull up close to his mother’s door that night because he didn’t want people to see him in his pajamas.
His mother, Shirley Rose, last spoke to her son on Wednesday night, but never saw him.
“The last time I talked to him was on my birthday,” she said. “He dropped his baby off at the house and then left. Even when he was staying with me, he has never done anything like this.”
Ross did not know what caused her boyfriend to leave Wednesday night. She said they went to get milk, arrived back home and then he left.
“I was walking out of the kitchen and he was coming in that night,” Ross said. “I had just put the milk up and he told me he had to go, but he would be right back. He told me we would watch a movie when he got back. He didn’t say where he was going, though.”
Rose stands 5 feet-5 inches and has several tattoos. His newest is his name on his left forearm. He also has S.M.R. tattooed for his mother and his children’s names. One of the most unique tattoos is that of barbwire around his neck.
Shirley asked for anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact her or the police to just let her know.
“If someone would just leave a note in the mailbox, then at least I would know where he is,” she said. “I just want to find him.”
Anyone with information on Warner James Rose’s location, may contact the police secret witness line at 874-2190 or Crimestoppers at 877-3530.

Sounds like the investigators need to comb every single house on St. Phillips Street. This is just weird and scary.

This is so low, I know him, I run into him when he picks his kids up from McRae, and he is a very nice person. His kids and nephew are so in love with him, I hope for the kids' sake that he is found.

Sounds like something happen between dropping the baby off and getting back to his home. I wonder if he got a call on his cellphone during this time that change the plans for the evening & if the authority have thought to get his cellphone records to see what calls we're made/recieve during the hours coming up to his disappearance. Because if he didn't want to be seen in his pj's at his mom's house, it appears strange that he would go out somewhere else unless it was urgent. Why would he go out w/o telling his g/f where he was going? Sound a little suspicious. Hope he's found safe, for his children sake.
