Federal judge recommends dismissal of case against Selma City School Board

Published Tuesday, November 11, 2008

A federal magistrate recommends dismissing a lawsuit filed against the Selma School Board by a former Selma High assistant principal.

Levi Marshall waited a day too late to file the lawsuit under his right to sue letter granted him by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He had 90 days to file, according to a report filed in U.S. District Court by Magistrate Judge Sonja F. Bivins.

Marshall sued the school board, saying he was transferred from his position at Selma High to another in the system because the school board wanted to hire a younger female.

Marshall worked at Selma High from August 2004 until May 2007.

He alleges when he opposed the move to another position, the school board retaliated by firing him on May 6, 2008.

The school board denied Marshall’s claim.

Marshall has until Nov. 21 to file objections to the magistrate’s recommendation.

Please you know and I know how the board operates and having some knowledge of your lawyers in selma I would say If he was done wrong and that is the reason he was fired drive forward. Now we all know how the school board is going to act. I say they did move this person to hire a young lady. But its goes back to the selction and how people voted so that means you got what you voted for total Ignorance running your schools. And if it is the one I am thinking she does not deserve her position. I would look at the wrong doing of who hired her and why was she hired.

Well that is why we should have an elected school board....not this system that places their buddies on the board and then they owe favors to who got them there.

What ever happened to the School Board President who beat up her sick sister.....lets start talking about that....

The Marshall family has worked hard in this system Levi and His father and to dismiss him like...wow.

We got alot of work to do SELMA!!!!

Love more and Hate less!

Do it for the children!
