Johnson and his foundation gear up for camp

Michael Johnson’s eighth annual Football and Cheer Camp will take place on April 22 at Memorial Stadium. We’ve written in the past about Johnson and the MJ93 Foundation and about their efforts to ensure our children have a bright future, an effort that continues.

The organization is putting on two events in April, a career readiness day for eighth graders at Wallace Community College Selma, and Johnson’s football and cheer camp. The career day will focus on getting students ready for their future, giving them a chance to learn more about all kinds of careers that may want to pursue in the future.

The camp gives boys and girls a chance to get up close to Johnson, a NFL player that grew up in Selma and Plantersville. Johnson’s story is one that continues to inspire. Not only was he a great athlete, but he was a tremendous student and he grew up right here, on the same streets as the children he talks to at camps.
