Roundup: Keith girls win 17th straight game

Keith 66, Wetumpka 29 (Girls)

The Keith girls (17-1) won their seventeenth consecutive game Thursday in a 66-29 victory over Wetumpka in the BallN Prep Girls Invitational.

Harriet Winchester scored 31 points to lead the Bears and also had 10 rebounds and eight assists. Zykia Pettway had nine points and 10 rebounds and Shatavia Moore had nine points of her own.

Selma 48, Carver 45 (Girls)

Selma (16-2) defeated Carver 48-45 Thursday to win the Dwight Madison Roundball Classic.

Jamya Smith scored 14 points to lead the Saints. Selma’s Jacquetta Dailey and Charmekia Moore each had nine points. Areyana Williams chipped in eight points for the Saints.

Selma will host Francis Marion Saturday at Selma High School.

 

Central Tuscaloosa 49, Keith 48 (Boys)

Keith fell in the Nucor Tournament Championship to Central Tuscaloosa 49-48 Tuesday evening. John Pettway scored 26 points and added 11 rebounds to lead the way for the Bears.
