Southside had a challenge facing the reigning class 1A state champion Keith, and the Bears gave every indication that they have another state championship on their minds in a blowout over the Panthers.

Harriet Winchester and Shatavia Moore each led Keith with 16 points in a 42-17 victory over Southside Monday in the opening round of the Dallas County Classic.

Southside only mustered one field goal in the first half while Moore exploded for 11 second-half points. The game was never in doubt as the Bears prepare to face the only team that has beaten them all season Tuesday.
