Two more days to visit Central Alabama Fair

If you haven’t been yet to the Central Alabama Fair, you have two more nights to join in on the fun.

This year’s fair so far as enjoyed great weather and great crowds. It will be exciting to see what the turnout has been. Many people said Monday’s crowd was as large as they can remember in a long time.

That’s good news because every admission ticket benefits the Selma Lions Club and the charitable work in the community. The Lions Club is known across the globe for the work in does to help the blind and those with vision issues. While the local club supports those efforts, they also give to many nonprofit groups in Selma and Dallas County.

In addition to admission, the Lions Club gave community members another way to get in and help their neighbors Wednesday.

The annual Kids Night allowed children to get in for a donation of a canned good to the local good pantry or supplies for local animal shelters. The night is a great way to allow families on a budget to enjoy the fair while making a difference in their neighborhood.

The fair continues Friday and Saturday night. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and 1 p.m. Saturday.
