Francis Richard “Dick” DeBray

Francis Richard “Dick” DeBray, of Montgomery, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, July 3, 2015, at his home.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Threadgill Buster; son, Thomas Richard DeBray; and his grandson, Harry Blaylock DeBray.

He is survived by his wife, Sydney DeBray; son, James C. (Sherry) DeBray; daughters, Cille DeBray Henderson and Cissy DeBray (Sohail) Agboatwala; step-sons, Michael (Jeanne) Simpson and Gregory (Scooter) Crutcher; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson and one great-grandchild on the way.

He graduated from Albert G. Parish High School in Selma in 1949. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1954.

He served his country as a sergeant in the Army from 1950-1951. He was active in business throughout Alabama in road building, banking, real estate and trucking. He retired from Wiley Sanders Truck Lines in 1997.

Graveside services will be held at Old Live Oak Cemetery in Selma Monday, July 6, at 11 a.m. with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making memorial contributions to Gentiva Hospice of Montgomery or the Selma-Dallas County Public Library.
