Randolph Nelson Long Jr., 71, of Selma passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his parents Randolph Nelson Long and Irma Folwkes Long.
Randy is survived by his devoted wife, Jo Ann Boswell Long, sister, Carroll Carter Long, brother, and sister-in-law, Don and Judy Blanton of Selma; two nephews, Billy Blanton (Arria) of Mobile and Clay Blanton (Julia) of Atlanta; niece, Maggie Blanton of Los Angeles; and several great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2015, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
Mr. Long was the farm manager on the family tree farm in Gees Bend. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Randy was a faithful volunteer at the Miller Childers Center, formally the Selma Christian Alliance. He also delivered meals on wheels. He had a passion for reading and a love for animals as well as a gift for listening to others.
