Freedom of religion is getting challenged

It sure seems to me we are headed for a pure socialist state where everything is dictated and controlled by a very small minority in big government.

If there were an endangered species list for citizens, it most assuredly would include Christians and policemen.

These two entities are considered a nuisance to the liberal left in the socialistic framework being imposed. The First Amendment free exercise of religion is out the window with these people. Policemen, on the other hand, are just being targeted for doing their job which is enforcing the law.

We are allowing the fringe elements of society to dictate the discourse in public and private policy making. Never have I witnessed such a huge directional change in our Republic as in the past few years. You have to ask yourself, where do we go from here?

Just since the days of President William Jefferson Clinton, we have turned 180 degrees.

The Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 unanimously approved by Congress and signed into law by President Clinton is not that different than the one in Indiana demagogued to death.

It differed only in perception fueled mainly by recent gains made by the fringe elements of society during this administration. Another six years like the past and there is a good likelihood Christians may be arrested just for being Christians. It is an undisputable fact this nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, yet there is a movement to eradicate the ideals and principles established by the founding fathers. If Christians relinquish their rights under the First Amendment by acquiescing, morality and virtue goes along with it.

I do not believe the nation can stand without a Christian influence, but do not just take my word for it.

The author of the first American speller and first Dictionary, Noah Webster said, “The Christian religion, in its purity, is the basis, or rather the source of all genuine freedom in government . . . and I am persuaded that no civil government of a republican form can exist and be durable in which the principles of that religion have not a controlling influence.”

In 1798, John Adams warned his fellow countrymen in a speech to the military, “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion . . . Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

It is time for Christians to wake up, speak up, and use their vote and purse.

Vote only for Christians who support Christian beliefs and trade only with businesses who do likewise.
