According to Lt. Curtis Muhannad with the Selma Police Department, Jervon Turner, 21, and Justin Rose, 17, were both charged with first-degree robbery, a class A felony.

The two men allegedly entered a nightclub Thursday night on the 100 block of Race Street and demanded money from the cashier.

According to Muhannad a shot was fired after the two men demanded money, but investigators don’t know if the shot came from one of the suspects or someone else in the club.

When officers arrived on the scene around 9:46 p.m., club employees and patrons had already detained Turner, but Rose fled the scene.

Officers responded to a nearby trailer park a few minutes later about a prowler in the area that was going underneath trailers, Muhannad said.

Officers found Rose in the trailer park with a gunshot wound to his left leg, but the police department is still investigating how the 17-year-old was shot.

According to Muhannad, the weapon Rose used in the attempted robbery was found on path from the club to the trailer park. Muhannad said officers found the weapon by following a trail of blood on the path. Turner’s weapon has not been recovered yet.

Rose was transported by ambulance to a Montgomery hospital for treatment for the gunshot wound. Once released, he will be booked into the Dallas County Jail
