Dixie Flips win first place team award in Tuscaloosa

Dixie Flips Gymnastics traveled to Tuscaloosa on March 7 to compete in the annual Clover Classic held at the gym of the Tuscaloosa Tumbling Tides.  

Starting the day off were the level 2’s, ranging in age from 6 to 11. In age group A, Jaden McGee placed first in all events and in all-around.  Brooke Egbert placed fourth on vault, second on bars, third on beam, seventh on floor and third in all-around. Molly Bohannon placed third on vault, eighth on bars, fourth on beam, eighth on floor and eighth in all-around. Madalyn Stevens placed fourth on vault, sixth on bars, seventh on beam, sixth on floor and seventh in all-around.

In the next age group Cameran Duncan placed eighth on vault, second on bars, sixth on beam, sixth on floor and seventh in all-around.  Keenan Lee McHugh placed fourth on vault, third on bars, fifth on beam, second on floor and third in all-around. Shyana Montoro placed first on vault, eighth on bars, fourth on beam, first on floor and fourth all around.

Ruth Stevens placed seventh on vault, fifth on bars, second on beam, sixth on floor and fifth in all-around.

Evey Craig level 3 and Sarah Lloyd Free level 5 each placed first on all events and first in all-around.

The team won the first place team award, beating out Prattville YMCA.The team and class girls are working hard preparing for the inter-squad fun meet to be held at Dixie Flips Gym on May 30th. For information on classes contact coach Tracey Craig at (334) 431-0041.
