The recent wet weather isn’t just causing problems for local baseball and softball teams. It’s also creating a big headache for the Selma Country Club.

The club was set to hold its first tournament of the year, the 8th Annual 3-Man Scramble, this weekend, but had to postpone it because of the wet conditions.

“The warm weather we had was great, but the last week it was so cold we are just like mid-January here,” said Tommy Burns, who is the PGA professional at the Selma Country Club. “We are still 95 percent dormant. A little over three inches of rain hasn’t helped me any either.”

Burns said he hopes to reschedule the tournament for June, but he’s not sure on the date yet.

The next tournament on the Selma Country Club schedule is the four ball tournament set for April 11-12, which highlights a busy summer schedule for the golf club.
