Roundup: CCA men, women win weekend games

Concordia 69, Washington Adventist 67 (Men’s)

The Concordia College Alabama men’s basketball team held on for a 69-67 victory over Washington Adventist Sunday.

Anthony Jones scored 17 points for the Hornets and made 3-of-4 shots from three-point range. Dennis Miles had 16 points and 11 rebounds for Concordia. Michael Lewis was the final Hornets player in double figures with 11 points.

Concordia 81, Fisk 59 (Men’s)

Behind 25 points from Anthony Jones, Concordia College Alabama defeated Fisk University 81-59 Saturday.

Jones was 9-of-13 from the field and had five assists to lead the Hornets.

Dennis Miles scored 16 points for Concordia in the victory.

 

Concordia 73, Oakwood 51 (Women’s)

The top-ranked Concordia College Alabama women’s team continued rolling Monday with a 73-51 victory over Oakwood University.

Tykeria Johnson scored 19 points for the Hornets and Lashay Lettingham added another 18. Desiree Wilson was the final Lady Hornets player in double digits with 10 points.

 

Concordia 74, Washington Adventist 51 (Women’s)

Eight players scored as Concordia College Alabama defeated Washington Adventist 74-51 Sunday.

Erica Ousley led the Hornets with 16 points and Tykeria Johnson scored 15.
