“Mr. Parker left out of the business, and the barber walked out behind him, and they had an altercation outside,” Muhannad said. ”That altercation led to the shots being fired outside.”

After Parker shot at the victim, the barber, who is in his 40s, ran back into the business. Parker reportedly followed him back inside and shot him in the groin, which police believe hit an artery.

According to Muhannad, the victim and Parker were reportedly friends prior to the shooting and altercation, which may have involved a family member, Muhannad said.

“Jokes were made which led to the disrespect of the victim’s family and Parker’s niece,” Muhannad said.

The barber was taken to Vaughan Regional Medical Center’s emergency room in critical condition. He was later airlifted to a Montgomery hospital.

There were patrons inside the barber shop at the time of the shooting, but no additional injuries were reported.

“Right now, we’re out trying to find a possible location where the suspect may have fled to,” Muhannad said. “So far, what we do know is that he arrived here in a vehicle, and he left on foot. Right now, we’re taking that vehicle as evidence in reference to our case.”

Parker is described as 5-foot-6 inches tall and weighs approximately 165 pounds.
