Dear editor,

Thanks to reporter Jay Sowers for the article on Mr. Frank Blocton and his garage. We have used Mr. Blocton for our repairs for the 13 years we have been back in Selma and have never been disappointed. I will never forget going into his office there at the garage to pay him once.

His desk was so full of papers, stacked and running over, that it was worthy of some lawyers I have known! Right on top of them lay a Holy Bible open and well used. I said, “Mr. Blocton, that is a good book you are reading,” pointing to the Bible. I believe he said, “It is the only one I ever need,” words showing the importance of that book in his life. Our family has always found Mr. Blocton pleasant and honest, helpful and hardworking. He knows cars and how to fix them, what the best type of replacement part is and the ones that don’t last as long. We never buy new vehicles and he has kept our used ones running well all these years.

Thank you, Mr. Blocton for your great work ethic, for your doing your best for your customers, for your example in your dependence on the Lord and His Word! Selma needs more of their 13 year olds these days to be following in your footsteps.
