Selma teen facing second-degree rape charges

A Selma teenager is facing charges of raping an underage family member.

Jaquarious Lamar Richardson, 18, was arrested by Selma Police Department officers Sunday and charged with second-degree rape.

According to a release from the Selma Police Department, officers responded to a call in reference to a victim around 4 a.m. Sunday. The victim’s mother told officers her daughter had been raped by Richardson.

Family members reported Richardson having intercourse with the victim at or about 2 a.m. at Richardson’s residence. Richardson was detained for questioning concerning the case, and later charged with second-degree rape.

Richardson is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail with a total bond of $33,000, including previous charges of disorderly conduct and menacing.
