The Hornets turned the ball over five times and were limited to only 69 yards passing. The night started with a surprising onside kick by the Panthers that Elmore County recovered, which might have set the tone for the entire game.

Panthers quarterback Michael Wayne Walls threw the first of three touchdowns on the night to put Elmore County up 7-0. From there, a fumble recovery by the Panthers Lazavius Head gave Elmore County fantastic field position again.

Walls threw another touchdown pass to Jaleen Mitchell to extend the Panthers lead to 14-0.

When Walls ran in for a 7-yard touchdown and Jacob Bush added another, Elmore County had a 28-0 lead early in the second quarter.

Eventually, the Dallas County offense came alive, with quarterback Prince Tolbert throwing two touchdowns and running for a two-yard touchdown late in the game to make the score 40-20.

Elmore County added two field goals in the second half from 26-yards and 29-yards out to extend their lead.

The 5-4 Panthers close the season next week at home with a bout against rival Tallassee.

Dallas County is 2-7 and winless in 4A Region 3 action.

The Hornets finish the year against Southside Selma.
