The Dixie Flips Gymnastics kicked off the 2013 competitive season at Judges Cup in Montgomery Aug. 24.

The level two gymnasts competed first, with Jaden McGee, 5, placing first on the vault with a score of 9.375, third on the bars, fifth on the beam, second on the floor, and third in the all-around standings.

In the Junior B division, which is for 7-year-olds, Cameron Duncan placed second on the vault, eighth on the bars, ninth on the beam, ninth on the floor, and seven in the all-around. Brooke Egbert placed eighth on the vault, seventh on the bars, tenth on beam, eighth on floor and eighth in the all-around standings. Mary Frances Huffman placed ninth on the vault and the bars, eighth on beam and tenth in the floor and overall standings.

In the 8-year-old division, called Junior C, Anne Hayes Utsey placed eighth on vault, seventh on bars, sixth on beam, fifth on floor and seventh in the all-around standings. Kennan Lee McHugh placed tenth on vault and bars, seventh on beam, ninth on floor and tenth on all-around.

In Senior A, the 9-year-old class, Andee Fancher placed first on vault, fourth on bars, sixth on beam, ninth on floor and seventh on all-around.

Anna Grace Small placed fifth on vault, ninth on bars, tenth on beam, second on floor and ninth in the all-around standings. Alaina Harrison placed tenth on vault and bars, ninth on beam, eighth on floor and tenth in the all-around standings.

Two level three gymnasts competed, Evelyn Craig, 7, and Hailey Smitherman,12. Craig placed ninth on vault and bars, fifth on beam, ninth on beam, and eighth in the all-around. Smitherman placed ninth on vault, eighth on bars, sixth on beam, fourth on floor and eight in the all-around standings.

Kaileigh Harrison, level four, placed eighth on vault, seventh on bars, eighth on beam, seventh on floor and seventh in the all-around. Sarah Lloyd Free, level five, placed fourth in all of the events and fourth in the all-around standings.

The Dixie Flips will return to Montgomery in September to compete at United Gym Stars in the Festival of Stars.
