Wilcox Central at Keith

The Keith Bears will host Wilcox Central in the two team’s regular season opener. Keith has made the playoffs five consecutive years and hopes to continue that success in 2013.

The Bears went 8-2 last season and return many key players from last season’s team. Wilcox Central was 0-10 last season. The game starts at 7 p.m.

Ellwood Christian at Francis Marion

In the Eagles first season in AHSAA, Ellwood Christian reached the playoffs with a 5-5 record.

The Rams went 0-10 last season, including an opening 38-0 loss to the Eagles -— Ellwood Christian’s first win in an 11-man football game. Friday’s game starts at 7 p.m.

 

Pike Liberal Arts at Morgan Academy

Friday night the Pike Liberal Arts Patriots will travel to Morgan Academy as both teams begin their seasons, with the game starting at 7 p.m.

Morgan Academy went 3-7 last season. Pike Liberal Arts went 1-9, including a 39-8 loss to the Senators at home. This offseason Morgan Academy has worked on speeding up its offensive tempo and Friday night will be a first look at the progression the team has made.

 

Meadowview Christian at Sumter Academy

Last season Meadowview Christian struggled to a 3-7 record, but hope is on the horizon as a new season begins with Friday night’s trip to Sumter Academy.

Last season, Sumter Academy went 4-6, with all four wins coming in AISA Class 1, Region 2 play.

 

Calhoun at Dallas County

After a jamboree victory against Montevallo, Dallas County is prepared to host its regular season opener under new head coach Barry Colburn.

The Hornets went 2-8 last season, but many around the program feel it is ready to take the next step.  Last season one of the Hornets two victories came against Calhoun in a 27-14 contest. That win ended a 13-game losing streak for Dallas County.
