MARION — Kenny Tabb, 21, is currently being held at the James Hood Detention Facility under a $36,000 bond for the shooting of a juvenile. Tabb allegedly shot the juvenile in the face over the Fourth of July holiday at “the hill,” a popular hangout spot in Marion.

District Attorney Michael Jackson said several details are still unclear surrounding the incident, but it is believed the juvenile, along with several others, was in a heated argument before Tabb fired.

“We’re not sure of the relationship between Tabb and the juvenile, we’re looking into all that right now,” Jackson said. “We believe it initially started off with the victim and a few other juveniles getting into an argument, and that’s how the shooting [happened.]”

The juvenile suffered serious injuries, possibly life threatening, and is currently receiving hospital treatment.

Tabb is charged with first-degree assault, but Jackson said that charge might be upgraded.

“Of course if the charge gets upgraded then the bond will become more,” Jackson said.
