Carol “Sonny” Tharp, age 71, of Selma , passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013.

He is survived by his wife: Peggy Anderson Tharp; Daughter: Angie Rushing, Stepson: Clyde Anderson (Elizabeth Epperson); Stepdaughter: Jeannette Wallace (Nathan); Grandchildren: Ricky Rushing, Drew Lucas, Adrianne Lucas, Blade Anderson; Brother: Otis Tharp of Eupora, MS; Sister: Delaine Vines (James) of Selma, AL, Josephine McCrory of Eupora, MS ,Decell Nabors (Jr) of Gallion, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Tharp is preceded in death by his parents: J.C and Mamie Tharp; brother: Cecil Trainer; and Milton Trainer, Sister: Adell Oglesby and Hazel Campbell.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Summerlin officiating.
