Walter Agnew Moore, Sr.

Walter Agnew Moore, Sr. age 80, passed away March 22, 2013 at his home in Pipe Creek, TX. He was born November 14, 1932 in Montgomery, AL. The youngest child of John C. and Lucy Howell Moore.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara Moore; his son, Johnathan Bryant Moore; four brothers, three sisters, four nephews.

Mr. Moore graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army. On his return he attended Marion Military Institute as a day student and also attended Ala. Polotecnic Ins.

While living in Columbus, GA., Mr. Moore worked as a draftsman for Biggers, Scarbrough and Neal Architectural Firm. He and his family moved to Selma in January, 1964. He worked as an Electrician for his father-in-law, William McKenzie, owner of Dallas Electrical Co. After moving to Florida and Texas he continued in the electrical trade as a master electrician.

Mr. Moore is survived by his son, Walter Agnew (Lisa Nagy) Moore; daughters, Lisa (Ronald) Ashley, and Alyson (John) Strother; his grandson, Joseph Delage; granddaughters, McKenzie and Liz Strother; two stepdaughters, Genia Bunn and Tanya (Bernie) Kendall; two step grandsons, Ryan Bunn and B.J. Kendall; two sisters-in-laws, Jean ( Reuben Thomas) Moore, and Jean (Bobby) Moore.

A memorial was held for Mr. Moore in Pipe Creek, TX, Saturday, April 6, 2013.
