Jim Raines, age 72, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013.

Mr. Raines was born in Lamison, Alabama to the late Marvin B. Raines and Elsie Nichols Raines and grew up in Selma, Alabama and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He retired from Delta Airlines as a jet mechanic and enjoyed spending his time going to every yard sale he could and was a great collector of “things”.

Mr. Raines was preceded in death by his son James S. Raines. He is survived by his wife; Vivian D. Raines of Lilburn, brother; Edward (Beverly) Raines of Mobile, Alabama and sister; Sylvia Taylor of Selma, Alabama. He is also survived by his very dear friend Cheryl Hancock and his step-daughter Wendy Hancock, both of Macon.

There was a visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home and a funeral service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. A graveside service will also be held in Selma, Alabama on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. Central Time.
