Joseph Franklin Strickland, age73, of Selma, died Monday, May 13, 2013 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Frances Pearl Pruitt Strickland; sons, Robert Franklin Strickland and Albert Lee Dement; daughters, Melissa Michelle Stough and Connie Hopkins; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Irvin Ross Strickland, James Ray Strickland and Douglas Wayne Strickland; sister, Mary Lou Harris Motes.. He is preceded in death by his sons, Tommy Elden Dement and Leo Edward Brown Jr.; daughter, Wanda Jean Strickland Howton; sisters, Mary Kate Strickland Presley, Eveylyn Strickland Johnson and Alma Robertson.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday May 15, 2013 at New Live Oak Cemetery.
